BlueSky Sponsors Janus Development Services with a Holiday Gift
On December 8, 2011, BlueSky was involved in Janus Development Services' People Helping People Holiday Tree Festival. Janus Development Service provides individuals with disabilities the opportunity to participate within the community through their various events. BlueSky's devotion to our community was truly shining during this special event where BlueSky was given the opportunity to sponsor a holiday tree by decorating our 7 ft. tall evergreen with the help of our friends at Janus.
As you can see, our tree was decorated with a very BlueSky theme, and we had a great time working with many of the individuals who are involved in Janus' services. Janus was very grateful for BlueSky's participation, and we are very appreciative of the opportunity to help such a great cause. We are proud to have been involved in such a wonderful event. BlueSky Sponsored the Lake Country Clean Water Festival
As part of our contribution to the communities we live in, BlueSky was given the opportunity to sponsor the Lake Country Clean Water Festival. BlueSky believes that the environment is very important and what better way to show our support than to sponsor an event that promotes the well-being of all of the waterways in the Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
Nestled in the heart of Waukesha County, Lake Country covers 580 square miles and contains some 77 fresh water lakes. This year, the Pewaukee Lake Water Ski Club hosted its 16th annual Beach Party, as well as the first ever Lake Country Clean Water Festival. The event was made to raise awareness of the growing problems facing waterways and to provide a means for everyone to enjoy the many activities available on the many lakes of Lake Country. The mission of this festival is to raise awareness for the increasing need for the preservation of Lake Country's lakes and to raise money for funding efforts to clean the lakes so that everyone may continue to enjoy their fun and beauty that the lakes bring to their community. Other sponsors included MillerCoors, AO Smith, and many more.
The Clean Water Festival had exciting events to choose from including bands, food, drinks, learn to ski clinic, canoe rides, water ski show, yoga on the beach, clean water expo, clean water education, adaptive skiing, fishing clinic, and many more. BlueSky takes pride in our commitment to the communities we live in and we are very glad to have sponsored such a great event.

One ofthe many events, the Pewaukee Lake Water Ski Club put on a great ski show.

Brooke's Place Golf Outing
This year, BlueSky sponsored the Brooke's Place Hope FORE Tomorrow Golf Outing. This annual charity golf outing is a perfect opportunity to get out and support the community. Brooke's Place is a nonprofit organization providing support and services to grieving children and families with the belief that hope for tomorrow begins today. Brooke's Place was founded based on the idea that every young person deserves the opportunity to grieve in a supportive and understanding environment. Since 1999, Brooke's Place has provided grief peer support groups to over 4,500 young people and their families with hurting hearts.
BlueSky has provided financial sponsorship and consulting services, as well as actively participated in Brooke's Place events for several years. This year we decided to be the title sponsor because we truly value giving back to the community in which we live. To learn more about Brooke's Place, visit http://www.brookesplace.org.
BlueSky sponsored the Live Like Andi Walk & Run
BlueSky is proud to announce another community sponsorship we recently supported. On May 14th, BlueSky took part in sponsoring the Live Like Andi Walk & Run & Fashion Walk in Novi, Michigan. The fundraising event was held by the Live Like Andi Foundation to raise money for the Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Research Foundation. Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC) is a very rare type of cancer that affects salivary glands found in many areas on the human body. The disease is very deceptive and there is no known cure, so providing as much support toward research of ACC is the goal of the Live Like Andi Foundation. BlueSky is very glad to have been able to help.
The Live Like Andi Foundation was established in memory of Andrea Whitesell O'Connell, who passed away in 2007 after a 21-year battle with ACC. The Live Like Andi Foundation's mission is to raise money to fund research leading to a cure of ACC, to support ACC patients and their families, and to award scholarships to students who share Andi's rare positive outlook during a time of pain. Andi's story is very touching and her inspiration will last forever.
Andrea Whitesell O'Connell, the inspiration of the Live Like Andi Foundation, was just 19 years old when she was diagnosed with ACC. The life expectancy for ACC patients is five to seven years, but Andi lived and fought the terrible cancer for 21 years. She passed away when she was 40, but her optimism and hope showed her courage during her battle against the disease. Andi's positive spirit was extremely inspirational and contagious to everyone she met. Although Andi had such a tough battle, her optimism and grace during such a hard time will truly inspire many people for years to come. After her death, Andi's husband Michael started the Live Like Andi Foundation to provide hope towards finding a cure for ACC. He wants everyone who has dealt with, is dealing with, or knows someone who has lost the fight to cancer to remember to always be courageous and live with happiness and hope just like his late wife Andi did. The Live Like Andi Foundation wants everyone to always remember Andi's favorite phrase "Live, Laugh, Love" as a hopeful way to get the most out of life.
BlueSky is extremely proud to have been able to sponsor such a great foundation and great cause. For more information on the Live Like Andi Foundation please visit: http://www.livelikeandi.org/index.php

BlueSky Sponsored a Noblesville Babe Ruth Baseball Team
BlueSky not only is involved in the community through a series of donations and charities, but this year we were able to sponsor the Noblesville Babe Ruth Baseball Team.
This year, the BlueSky sponsored a little league team in the Babe Ruth Baseball League in Noblesville IN. The team played some tough games to end the regular season in 3rd place. During the playoffs, they won 3 straight games leading them to the finals where they lost due to a rain cancellation and finished the season in second place. BlueSky keeps the signed baseball from the team in our trophy case as a symbol of sponsorship for our community.
BlueSky is a proud sponsor of the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance of Indiana.
In May, BlueSky was able to reach out to the community by sponsoring the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Walk held by the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance of Indiana. Fellow BlueSky'er Dave Greene and his wife Kelly participated in a fundraising walk aimed towards researching a cure for TSC.
Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to form in many different organs, primarily the brain, eyes, heart, kidneys, skin, and lungs. The tumors caused by TSC are not cancerous but still cause many problems. Depending on the location, the tumors can block the normal blood flows to certain organs which can lead to abnormalities in different areas of the body.
Tuberous Sclerosis is very different in many cases. Some people experience complications with the disease while others may not even know they are infected. Its affects are different for everyone. TSC can be inherited genetically or can be caused by spontaneous genetic mutation; two-thirds of cases are found to be caused by mutation of cells.
The TS Alliance is committed to finding a cure for TSC while improving the lives of those affected by 1.) developing programs, support services and resource information; 2.) by stimulating and sponsoring research; and 3.) by creating and implementing public and professional education programs designed to heighten awareness of the disease. With the various donations, the TS Alliance hopes to help the thousands of people who experience abnormalities caused by this disease.

Jewelers for Children
BlueSky continues to stay involved in the communities that we live or in some cases the communities or organizations that our clients are involved. For the last 3 years BlueSky has been involved as a financial sponsor in the Jewelers for Children organization, www.jewelersforchildren.org. Our involvement has come about by way of our relationship with Sterling Jewelers. Each year on behalf of this relationship we make a financial donation to Jewelers For Children. Now let's take a look at what our contribution along with several other organizations actually provides.
As the industry's charity, Jewelers for Children is generously supported by those who create and sell fine jewelry and watches. Manufacturers, retailer jewelers, trade associations, watch companies and those whose provide professional services to the jewelry industry unite on behalf of children. The outreach of Jewelers for Children includes the following charities:
- Make-A-Wish Foundation
- St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
- Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation
- National CASA Association
- Autism Speaks
- Santa America
- Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
As you see this is a great platform for our charitable mission. We're proud to be involved.
